  • 2012 Giving in St. Louis- Gateway Center for Giving released a report at The Rome Group Philanthropic Landscape 2012 on the state of giving in the metropolitan St. Louis region.  To read the report click here. To view videos of the event click here.
  • Transit Oriented Development Study Update- East-West Gateway with the Regional Sustainable Communities carried out this study to examine each of the 37 metro link stations to create development plans for local governments to implement. To read this study click here.
  • Missouri Offers Grants for "Innovation Campuses"- Nearly $9m worth of grants will go to colleges/universities, businesses and school districts to help students earn college credits and work experience. For more information click here.
  • Four Round Two Community Planning Area Meetings Still to Come- East-West Gateway and the Regional Plan for Sustainable Development's meetings continue through August, meetings start at 6pm. For a schedule of meetings click here.

  • 2012-2013 HUD Annual Performance Plan- HUD releases annual performance plan and goals for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. To read the pdf version of the report click here.
  • Foreclosure Review Extended- The Federal Reserve and the OCC has agreed to extend the foreclosure review deadline to December 31st. For more information click here.
  • Congress Agrees on Framework for Continuing Resolution- The continuing resolution for fiscal year 2012-2013 will result in most community development and housing programs receiving the same funding levels as funding year 2012. For more information click here.

  • Opportunity Finance Works Conference-  This conference will be held on October 15-18 in San Antonio, Texas discussing new ways to expand the reach of CDFI's to distressed neighborhoods. For more information click here.
  • 2012 Governor's Conference on Economic Development- Missouri's Department of Economic Development hosts this event on September 5-7 at the St. Louis Renaissance Grand Hotel. Topics covered include business expansion/attraction and development. For more information click here.

  • Changes in Wealth of Low-Income Neighborhood Residents-  The Urban Institute analyzed longitudinal Making Connections Survey data on 2,500 families in low-income neighborhoods and found that access to credit and residents’ perceptions of their neighborhood among other factors are related to wealth holdings and asset development.
