Welcome to the first St. Louis Community Builders Exchange. The Exchange is a new partnership between the Community Builders Network of Metro St. Louis, the St. Louis Home Repair Network, and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to bring you quality up-to-date community development news. Instead of three emails in your inbox -- you will receive one e-newsletter, a single destination for community development news in the region. Look for the St. Louis Community Builders Exchange every other Wednesday morning!

Trainings and Workshops

  • Neighborhood Leadership Academy- University of Missouri St. Louis's Community Partnership Project is accepting applications for the 2012 Neighborhood Leadership Academy. Registration deadline is February 8th.
  • Funding Your Neighborhood Project Workshop- Learn the tools and techniques to secure funding for your neighborhood project at a workshop provided in partnerhsip with the Community Partnership Projects's Neighborhood Leadership Academy.   • Startup Missouri- Startup Missouri, a state-wide effort to create a central space to boost entrepreneurship will launch on January 31st in St. Louis. Please vist the Startup Missouri website for more information especially if you run a startup business. 

Conferences and Seminars

  • What's Working in St. Louis Neighborhoods- University of Missouri St. Louis Community Partnership Project's Brown Bag Series continues with a February 1st lunch time discussion on affordable rental housing. For more information please visit the Brown Bag Series website.  
  • 2012 Policy Summit on Housing, Human Capital, and Inequality- The 10th annual Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Policy Summit will focus on effective strategies to strengthen and rebuild communities. For conference details visit the 2012 Policy Summit website.
  • In Nonprofits We Trust- All nonprofit staff and board members are invited to attend a FREE moderated panel of local and regional sector leaders where proponents will explore ways nonprofits can enhance public trust and build a positive image in challenging times. Funding Opportunities

  • St. Louis Health Cornerstore Project- The St. Louis Healthy Corner Store Project was launched in 2011 as a collaborative effort between the City of St. Louis Departments of Health and Public Safety, University of Missouri Extension, and the St. Louis Development Corporation. The 2012 application proces is currently open and nominations are due by Friday February 3rd. For more information visit the St. Louis Healthy Corner Store Project website
  • Challenge America Fast-Track- The Challenge America Fast-Track grant from the National Endowment of the Arts offers support primarily to small and mid-sized organizations for projects that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations -- those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, or disability.
