Submissions should be in jpeg, png or a word document. All submissions must be in by Tuesday at 5p.m. to be included in the Wednesday newsletter. June 23 Hearing Canceled

A Note from Nancy McCoy

The June 23 hearing has been cancelled. According to Mr. Rojas at the County P&Z, Heather Bochon needs to go to the Town of Patagonia and present her project. How or when this will happen is not known at this time. If the project proceeds from there, the County will schedule another hearing with a time for comments, etc., just as this past hearing was done. You don't need to email any more comments, but hang onto them, as well as any petitions you have, because we will need them if there is another County hearing. Comments from the June 23 hearing that have already been sent to the County will be forwarded to be a part of any future County hearing on this project.

This development consists of two separate businesses under the same ownership on separate areas of a 22.13-acre parcel. Approximately 17.87 acres will be used for the proposed Guest Lodge, and 4.26 acres will be used for a Microbrewery/Farm Winery without a tasting room. A Microbrewery/Farm Winery is a permitted use in a General Rural zoning district and does not require a Conditional Use Permit. A Conditional Use Permit is required to allow the construction of the Guest Lodge in the existing General Rural zoning. There are a total of 10 buildings. The Guest Lodge consists of the main building (6000-9000 sq ft) with 8 private rooms, along with 5 detached guest houses (1500-2200 sq ft each). The Lodge area includes hiking and biking trails, water features, an outdoor shower, and bathrooms. The microbrewery includes 3 buildings (1500-2200 sq ft each) and one 5000 sq ft building. This operation will primarily be making/importing/exporting and wholesaling products to local licensed facilities.
