Fluence Alumni Highlight:
Jenna Witkowski, LCSW
“I'm a licensed clinical social worker in Buffalo, NY. Graduated from Canisius College with a BA in psychology in 2007 and from the University at Buffalo with a Master's in Social Work in 2009. I currently work on a community mental health team for the NYS Office of Mental Health and have had a private therapy practice since 2017. My primary focus in therapy has been working with individuals with trauma and PTSD. I enjoy world travel, food, spending time in nature, and CrossFit.
I encountered the Fluence certificate program at a time in which I became curious about psychedelic experiences and their applications to the therapeutic process. Ironically, the program was first offered during the COVID-19 pandemic and I was longing for connection with others who shared similar interests in this area. After reading bios for the founders/trainers and connecting with them during an initial interview, I knew it would be a good fit for me personally and professionally.
The training at Fluence helped me to reinforce and develop improved skill-sets in creating an open container for my clients. It also allowed for an excellent foundation in clinical approaches to working with individuals pre and post psychedelic experiences, spanning everything from very positive experiences to those that are challenging for one to integrate. The program and training reinforced tapping into the inner healing wisdom our clients already have.
My current career aspirations include completing the MAPS MDMA-Assisted Therapy program (in process) and continuing to do work with my clients. A dream/vision is to own/operate a center while collaborating with a group of like-minded individuals who aspire to offer inclusive and equitable care in our local community using integrative practices to promote wellness across various disciplines.”
