Youth Speak Up on Prevention Policy Day 2017
On February 20, 2017, teens from across the state met in Olympia to advocate for prevention. In the photo above, Rebecca Wall, a 7th grader from Tumwater Middle School, is speaking with Representative Richard DeBolt about Senate Bill 5284 (addressing the oversight and regulation of marijuana) and House Bill 1054 (raising the tobacco purchasing age to 21).

Focus on the Future Together
For the past seven years the Drug Action Team has helped TOGETHER! plan the Substance Abuse: A Community Response Conference held at Great Wolf Lodge. This year the conference has a new name, Focus on the Future Together. The conference will be held at Hotel RL in Olympia, WA April 24-27, 2017. Early bird registration ends March 31, so register today to take advantage of the discounted rate. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend sessions on many different topics, including:
  • Community resilience
  • Advocacy strategies
  • Issues around opioids, tobacco, and marijuana in the community
  • Therapeutic justice
  • Homelessness and community service models

ESDs host Healthy Youth Survey Workshops
Learn about survey results and learn how to access, use, and interpret the data from the 2016 Washington State Healthy Youth Survey. A workshop will be held in each of the 9 different Educational Service Districts.
