Announcement: New Pilot Project

Our Thurston County ABCD program has partnered with the Washington Dental Services Foundation in a new initiative to expand awareness of the oral health needs of pregnant women.

The focus of the Prenatal Oral Health Initiative is twofold:

1. Educate pregnant women about the importance of good dental health during pregnancy, and

2. Offer dentists and OB providers information about the latest guidelines for safe dental treatment during pregnancy.

Our goal is to improve the oral health of pregnant women, thereby improving overall health outcomes in pregnant women and their newborn infants. The idea is to set up referral relationships between OB providers and dentists, so that more pregnant women with all types of insurance have access to care when they need it.

You can help and enter to win a $50 gift card!

ABCD and other dentists are encouraged to help us in this innovative, upstream approach by completing the attached survey. For taking a few minutes to answer the survey questions, you will be entered in a drawing to receive a $50 gift card!

We thank you in advance for your participation!

Noteworthy:

ABCD would like to officially welcome three new certified dentists to the ABCD team: We would also like to acknowledge Dr. Bo Davidson at Hawks Prairie Pediatric Dentistry and West Olympia Kids Dentistry. Front Office Administrator Linda always goes the extra mile to schedule kids who urgently need care. We can always count on this office for help. Thank you!!!
What is our impact?

Total ABCD enrollments in Lewis and Thurston counties in May, June, and July: 179

Thank you to Smiles4Kids in Lacey and Dr. Ryan LeMert in Randle for sending in referrals for Apple Health recipients under age six who were seen at your office. These referrals help us increase our enrollment numbers and allow us to provide program information and follow-up support to families who may not have heard of ABCD before.

To make it even easier for you to refer patients, we have an online enrollment form available at crhn.org/abcd. To request a printable form, please contact Katrin at palmerk@crhn.org.
