CPAA Awarded Youth Marijuana Prevention Grant

The Cascade Pacific Action Alliance is starting off 2016 with some great news! The  Alliance was successful in attaining the Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education Program (YMPEP) grant from the Washington State Department of Health (DOH). The YMPEP grant will support existing local efforts to prevent marijuana use among teens in the region, and the CPAA is the only Accountable Community of Health in the state to apply for the grant as a collaborative.

Youth Behavioral Health Coordination Project

Capital Region Educational Service District 113 (CR-ESD 113) and the Thurston-Mason RSN are working together to get the project going at the pilot sites in Mason and Thurston counties. Clinical and primary care providers in Mason County are also supporting project efforts. Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services is leading the pilot project team in Wahkiakum County.

CPAA provides ideas for HCA's global Medicaid Waiver application

As part of the process of applying for a federal Medicaid Waiver (Section 1115), the Washington Health Care Authority (HCA) has invited input from the Accountable Communities of Health (ACHs). The CPAA is engaging in this process by submitting templates in response to HCA's request for transformation project ideas. Completed templates are due to by Friday, January 15th.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Update

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced an Accountable Health Communities (AHC) model to address a critical gap between clinical care and community services in the current delivery system. Over a five-year performance period, CMS will implement and test a three-track model based on Awareness, Assistance, and Alignment. Up to 12 entities will be awarded grants for each of the first and second tracks, and up to 20 entities will receive grants to perform track three.
