Youth Behavioral Health Coordination Project
In late September, CHOICE staff submitted an application to the Cambia Health Foundation on behalf of the Youth Behavioral Health Coordination project. If awarded, this grant would provide funding for direct services at the four pilot site schools, support for regional coordination, as well as trainings in trauma-informed practices for the communities involved in the pilot project. Read more>>>

Care Coordination and Health Integration Work Group
The CPAA Care Coordination work group has had its second planning meeting to prioritize the matrix of strategies into a starting list and a list of strategies to tackle later on. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Work Group

Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education Program 

The CPAA region Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education Program has continued to partner with community organizations, public health departments, and local schools to deliver educational materials and information to youth and families. The Department of Health has also relaunched its Listen2YourSelfie campaign to reach youth across the state. Read more>>>
Local Opportunity: Willapa Community Network offers mini-grant program in Pacific County

The Willapa Community Network (WCN) is a collaboration hub working to enhace the quality of life in North Pacific County. The WCN is currently accepting applications for grant projects that address the reduction of intergenerational poverty or the reduction of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)Read more>>>

Health Care Authority Updates

The Health Care Authority announced on Sept. 30 that the Center for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) approved Washington's request for a five-year demonstration waiver that allows up to $1.5 billion of federal investment to help drive Medicaid transformation. The Healthier Washington Symposium, held on Monday, Oct. 24, gathered key stakeholders from across the state for new ideas to strengthen Healthier Washington efforts. CHOICE Executive Director, Winfried Danke, participated in the Communities and Health Equity Committee session and the closing panel.
