CPAA featured in national report
The National Academy for State Health Policy recently published a report on State Levers to Advance Accountable Communities for Health—a comparison of Accountable Communities of Health development efforts in California, Minnesota, Vermont, and Washington. The CPAA Youth Behavioral Health Coordination pilot project is featured in the report as an example of ACH work in action. Read more >>>

Youth Behavioral Health Coordination project reflects on past year at Monticello Middle School
Monticello Middle School in Longview was selected as the Cowlitz County pilot site for the Youth Behavioral Health Coordination project, and began implementation of screening and services during the 2015-2016 school year. Recently, regional work group members met with the school's principal and Registered Nurse Care Coordinator to learn about how the first year of the pilot project has been going at Monticello. CPAA Council develops a Shared Learning Syllabus
The CPAA Council has been creating a rigorous shared learning plan for the year, and kicked off its efforts in May with a panel discussion on the Southwest Region's early adopter experience with behavioral health integration. In June, the Council heard from the region's two Behavioral Health Organizations and a regional behavioral health provider, in addition to having a Question and Answer session with the Health Care Authority about the potential Medicaid global waiver. Health Care Authority Update

Value-Based Purchasing:
HCA has laid out their plan for how health care will change in Washington State by implementing new models of care based on value. Many questions still remain about the role of the Accountable Communities of Health in Value-Based Purchasing. Read the Road Map >>>

Tribal Engagement:
In May, HCA and ACH leaders met with local tribes and Urban Indian Health Organizations to discuss a proposed tribal engagement policy for ACHs. HCA recently followed up on this discussion with a response letter and an updated Tribal Collaboration policy.

Global Medicaid Waiver:
At the June CPAA Council Meeting, HCA's Marc Provence provided an informative presentation on the current global Medicaid waiver negotiations and corresponding plans for ACHs. A majority of the presentation was spent discussing the 17 questions that the CPAA Council had sent to HCA in advance of the meeting. Read more >>>

The first official release of the Healthier Washington Data Dashboard is now available! Contact CHOICE staff to request access codes for download. 
Statewide ACH Quarterly Convening
June 29–July 1, 2016
Staff members Winfried Danke and Jennifer Brackeen will be attending, along with two CPAA Council representatives, Chris Hawkins and Carole Halsan. This quarterly convening is a chance for all nine Accountable Communities of Health to gather with the Health Care Authority to discuss progress and questions pertinent to ACH work.
