Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education

Regional Partner Meetings
The Cascade Pacific Action Alliance (CPAA) region Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education Program (YMPEP) partners will be meeting via teleconference on Thursday, September 15th, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Email Matthew Shellhart with questions or for more information.

On Monday, September 26th, 1:30–3:00 p.m., we will be meeting with ESD-112 to learn about their approach to the YMPEP efforts in the Southwest Washington region. Two CPAA counties—Cowlitz and Wahkiakum—are within ESD-112's jurisdiction. This will be an opportunity to learn from and share with another YMPEP Regional Lead Organization. The meeting will be held at the Youth and Family Link Program, 907 Douglas St., Longview, WA 98632.
DOH Update

Cristal Connelly from DOH will be giving a presentation in October about appropriate messaging for adults and youth regarding marijuana use. More information coming soon.
Washington State Prevention Summit
November 7th–8th in Yakima

The goal of the Prevention Summit is to provide an enriching and culturally competent training and networking opportunity for youth, volunteers and professionals working toward the prevention of substance abuse, violence and other destructive behaviors as well as integrating such prevention efforts with primary health care.
