Our children’s ministry programs are Sunday at 10 AM. Truro Kids (K-4th) and Club 56 (5th & 6th grade) check-in at the Family Ministry Tent. Truro Kids meet in the Undercroft and Club 56 meets in Gunnell House. The Nest (3 month to 5 years/Pre-K) meets on the ground floor of the education wing.

Young Adults: Truro’s young adults are attending Rock the Block tonight at 6:30 PM. We’ll park at Truro and walk to Fairfax’s Old Town Square. There will be food vendors and live music—bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Contact Summer Fariñas for details.

Fairfax City Community Group: Interested in joining a Fairfax City Community Group for all ages and stages? Come to the playground this Sunday after the 10 AM service for a potluck lunch and interest meeting.

New Members Class: Truro’s New Members Class will continue this Sunday, September 25 at 9 AM, and will continue weekly into October. You can register HERE. Childcare (0-5) and Kids' Program (K-5th) will be available during this time.

It’s Parish Picnic Time! Join us on the lawn after the 10 AM service on October 2 for our Fall Parish Picnic. Sign up HERE to bring a side dish or to help set up/serve/clean up. Bring a blanket for the grass, or a fold-up chair. We will have some tables and chairs available. Oh, and loads of fun activities for kids of all ages! Invite a friend or neighbor!

King Jesus and His Unlikely Kingdom: Join the Rev. Mike Seawright for a mid-week Bible study on Wednesday evenings on Zoom from 7:30-8:45 PM starting October 12. Over the course of six weeks, we’ll explore selected readings from the Gospels, taking a look at the ways Jesus saw (and sees) the world differently than we do in His unlikely kingdom. TIPS: Many thanks to all of you who have volunteered to help with TIPS in one way or another this year–we are so appreciative! We currently have over 160 students signed up, with more registering every day.

We could use a few more assistants for our online classes (Monday and/or Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:45), and we always appreciate donations of lunch for our in-person classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dear Truro Parishioners,

As you can see from the numbers below, as of 8/31/2022, we are very close to being on target for meeting our year-to-date budgeted revenue! Due to your generous giving during the months of July and August, we have closed our gap in giving compared to our budget. All I can say is thank you so much for enabling Truro to do all of the things He has called us to do; God is good, all the time!

On the expense side of things, we are also doing well. We have spent less than projected thru 8/31/2022, however we do still have some very large upcoming bills to pay for fixing the boiler located below the sanctuary. Overall, we are in a good position from a cash flow point of view.

During July 2022, TPK paid back its loan balance to Truro in its entirety, and this was added into Truro's operating fund to pay for our recurring monthly expenses. As a final note, we have also not had to dip into any of our cash reserves, investments or savings accounts because we have stayed close to our 2022 budget and TPK has paid back its loan to Truro!
