Letter from the President

My Dear Neighbors,

I hope that you and your family are doing well and had a great summer. I know it is a busy time starting a new school year. We wish that the coming year be fruitful and safe to all children.

Early in July 2022, the Executive Committee had a hearing regarding compliance with deed restrictions. If you are planning to build a new home or remodel a current house, please communicate with ARC first to discuss the project and plans. This will save time, money and avoid the need for hearings and disputes.

Many thanks to our neighbors who already paid their OBPOA dues, and Patrol (SEAL) subscription for 2022, and special thanks to those neighbors who donated above their regular Patrol subscription. This is enabling OBPOA to increase the total hours covered by SEAL. Also, many thanks to our neighbors who paid their OBPOA dues at the Sustaining or Patron levels. This year, there is an increase in operating costs and your generosity is making up the difference between our budget and actual costs. Therefore, I am asking our neighbors who did not yet pay their 2022 OBPOA dues nor SEAL subscription to consider covering their obligations. In case you’re not sure about whether you have already paid this year, a separate message will be sent in the next 48 hours to neighbors who have not yet contributed for 2022.

The Executive Committee on July 19th approved the 2-year study for the four Flock Safety Cameras. The Patrol & Safety Committee will be working to raise funds for the cost of this two-year pilot project. A good number of our neighbors who answered the Flock study survey pledged to donate funds to cover the cost of this project for two years. Please, support the project and if you have any questions, please email Sharam Honari (

Also, the Executive Committee approved the budget for the Beautification Committee which was submitted by Daniel Parker, the interim chair.  Peter Elghohary has been appointed to be a member of this committee, welcome! Please support the committee to continue with its important mission.

We will be sending a survey about policies for Garage & Estate Sales and about Signs & Flags to get your input next week. When you receive it, please, let us hear from you.

The Ad Hoc Architectural Guidelines Committee headed by Paul Sanders is working hard to update the current architectural guidelines.
Best regards,
Samia Khalil, MD
