Honourable members,
The time has come! This week we celebrate the 94th Dies Natalis of the UHSK. A week full of sociability and fraternization of all our members.
In advance I would like to give a few initiatives extra attention by mentioning them in this newsletter and highlighting them. Many activities in the month of February deserve extra attention because they were very successful!
On Friday the 7th of February the Family Committee organized a successful Brothers and Sisters dinner! Accompanied by a few short lectures, all the brothers and sisters who came along enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of the evening itself. On February 12th the International Committee organized another Language Café in Café Mick O'Connells. The evening was well attended and received even more positive reactions than the first versions!
A week later the Firstyear committee organized a ice-skating event at the Vechtsebanen in Utrecht. With a nice group of firstyears (and also older members) a lot of rounds were skated.
The last week of February was full of activities, first of all on Tuesday, February 25, the teaching dinner took place in the Winkel van Sinkel. Wednesday there was a historical quiz organized by the HistoriCie, with almost 70 people present and a super fun quiz this was definitely a successful event that keeps growing every year! On Thursday it was already time for a great party in the K-Sjot organized by the party committee. With the theme: Go to hell in the monastery, the party was very well attended!
Friday February 28th the UBO closed the month of February with a research parade that dealt with the inequality in the academic world and the inequality experienced by history on different aspects.
Also in March a lot is organized from the board and its committees! I will highlight a few of these activities in this newsletter.
See you soon!
Love,
on behalf of the 94th Board of the Utrechtse Historische Studentenkring
