2016 BC Summer Games - Abbotsford, BC

The 2016 BC Summer Games will be hosted in Abbotsford, BC on July 21st to 24th with 2,448 athletes are from every corner of the province and have trained to earn a place to represent their zone at the Games. Competing in 18 different sports, the athletes are an average of 14 years old and for most, this will be their first experience at a multi-sport Games. These athletes will be supported by 473 coaches and 289 officials who have completed their certification in order to provide the best knowledge and expertise to the athletes and the competition. Good luck to all athletes!!
Canucks Autism Network Family Event
The Canucks Autism Network, PacificSport Interior BC and the City of Kamloops hosted an free family event at Riverside Park on June 6th. We saw over 200 kids and parents attend the event that included  giant Jenga and bubbles, active stations run by PacificSport, snacks and information tables to find out about the CAN programs and events that are in Kamloops. Watch for programs this fall that include "I CAN Be Active" and "I CAN Play Sports"

BC Ferries Sport Experience Program

Through the BC Ferries Sport Experience Program, BC Ferries and viaSport provide travel support to eligible not-for-profit sport organizations and athletes.
Vouchers may be used by athletes traveling to compete in international events, national championships, western Canadian championships, provincial championships or selection camps (does not include pre-season, tournaments, regular season league or event play).

About David Stride:

  • 20 years of experience in strength and conditioning and working with athletes and teams
  • David holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the Universities of Saskatchewan and Alberta
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is an active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
  • NCCP coaching certification in various sports
  • David currently owns Stride Sport and Performance, a strength and conditioning business within the Kamloops area.
  • Stride Sport and Performance provides complete athletic conditioning for youth to master athletes. David works with athletes at the youth, provincial, collegiate, junior, national and master level in numerous sports.

Syncro BC's Jean Peters Provincial Championships Result for the Interior

The Synchro BC 2016 Jean Peters Provincial Championships were held in Nanaimo at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre from May 14-15, 2016. Over 200 synchronized swimmers, coaches and judges from across British Columbia attended.

The interior team made the trip to Nanaimo for the championships and the Kamloops Sunrays earned silver championship medals in the 13-15 Solo, 16-18 Duet and 11-12 Team categories.

Kamloops Horseshoe Club - Members and Volunteers Wanted!

Stay young, fit and social. Join the Kamloops Horseshoe Club and try a new sport. The club practices 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursdays from April until end of September. Team BC U18 Lacrosse players, Ryan Dergousoff and Kordell Primus, just returned from BC's Best, Western Canada's premiere invitational lacrosse showcase, are at the All Canada Lacrosse Games this week, and will be heading to the Canadian Field Lacrosse Championships in Winnipeg, August 31 - September 4. Good Luck guys!
