Dear all,

For those who visited the Matchmaking Day, last Thursday, I hope you have enjoyed the day. We have informed the people present about progress in the innovation program and the upcoming new subsidy tenders. The formal information about these tenders has now been published in the Government Gazette (Staatscourant). In 2020 the Topsector Energie and the TKI Wind op Zee offer, together with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), a range of subsidies to support your offshore wind R&D and innovation projects.

Please check the RVO website (in Dutch) for the latest official information and tender regulations. Find out more about the MOOI instrument (in Dutch) and how you can submit questions about the subsidy tenders.

Also, during the Matchmaking Day, we launched our next “Project in the Spotlight” video on the Hype-ST project, on hydraulic pile extraction. Please find the link to the video and all other presentations that were given during the event in this newsletter.

Best regards,

Bob Meijer

Furthermore, I would like to inform you on:

Project in the spotlight: HyPE-ST

Several offshore wind farms are at the end of their life services, and more and more of these farms will be dismantled in the next two or three decades. In order to decommission the monopiles in a sustainable and cost-effective way, new techniques are being developed. Hydraulic Pile Extraction is one of the new methods to decommission the full monopile. This contributes to a more circular economy, mostly because all steel can be retrieved and recycled. Besides, the method is believed to be more cost-effective as compared to current techniques. Recently this technique was being tested by partners of the GROW consortium within the HyPE-ST project on scaled piles at Deltares in Delft.
