Dear all,

For many of us the holiday period is starting. The last months have shown continued success and competitiveness of offshore wind energy in the Netherlands and Europe. This growth can fuel the energy transition, and this growth will need to accelerate. The TKI Wind op Zee R&D Program and the upcoming Multi-Annual-Innovation-Programs (MMIPs) address the innovations needed to make the required jump in scale towards the 2050 goals.

Do you want to know more about the MMIPs and the innovation subsidies available to support your developments? Check out our website and keep the 31st of October available in your schedule. With the Topsector Energy we will inform you about the MMIPs and also seek your contribution to the program.

And, as last year, we are working with Offshore Wind Innovators to find solutions to challenges: this year for zero-emission transport for offshore wind farms. You will find more about this challenge, and the price you can win in this newsletter.

I wish you all a very enjoyable summer.

Best regards,

Bob Meijer

Furthermore, I would like to inform you on:

Employment analysis (2019-2023) of various fields of activities in the Dutch offshore wind sector’

TKI Wind op Zee presented the new report on employment in the Dutch offshore wind industry. The report provides insight into the number of people and the competencies that are required to successfully enrol offshore wind in Dutch waters up to 2023. The objective of the report was to provide insights which can be used to develop plans for education and inflow of future employees to the offshore wind sector.

Offshore wind plays an important role in the Dutch energy transition. For the near future, the Dutch government has the policy to have five offshore wind farms of circa 700 MW each, realised as from 2019 until 2024. TKI Wind op Zee in cooperation with has initiated a study to assess the employment development and required competencies in the construction and operational phase of offshore wind farms in the coming years. Erik Knol (Qeam) and Erwin Coolen (ECHT) performed the study.

The conclusions of the study are presented in the report ‘Employment analysis (2019-2023) of various fields of activities in the Dutch offshore wind sector’.

TKI Wind op Zee and InnovatieLink opened FinancieringsLoket for entrepreneurs in the energy industry

Since 1 July entrepreneurs in offshore wind energy who are in need of financing for their innovation and want to know how and where they could find it, can contact the Financieringsloket. These short consultations can be compared to a doctor visit: analysis, diagnosis and advice. InnovatieLink will provide this free service to entrepreneurs in the energy industry.

A specialized innovation manager will think along with entrepreneurs during 1 or 2 contact moments about their financing needs, discuss their investor readiness and, if necessary, refer them. The goal is to help entrepreneurs to find the right financing more easily and bring their innovation to the market faster.

Valorization hub
The FinancieringsLoket is part of a package of financial services that InnovatieLink executes as a "ValorisationHub" for the Top Sector Energy. In addition, InnovatieLink organizes a Masterclass Finance  for start-ups and scale-ups in the energy industry to gain insight into which financing instruments best suit their innovation. Furthermore, an InvestorDay is on the program where investors and innovative entrepreneurs get the opportunity to get in touch with each other.

The FinancieringsLoket can be reached via mail.
