We welcome two new members to our Advisory Board: Henry Valdez is the Director of the Administrative Offices of the New Mexico District Attorneys and a former District Attorney who has a long time interest in reducing domestic violence; Carol Horwitz is the mayor's appointment to the Santa Fe Police Department where she is the Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator.  We look forward to their valuable input as our organization grows.

This January we will have an intern from Oberlin College.  Belle Espinal grew up in Bronx, NY and is currently a freshman at Oberlin College in Ohio.  She is very interested in Comparative American and gender studies and black and white film photography. Belle will be helping us with designing the materials to accompany the distribution of our first film "Peggy's Story."

Winter Plans

"Peggy's Story" is now ready for distribution. We are working on a handbook to accompany it to help facilitate meaningful discussions following a showing. The response to several showings this fall was outstanding and generated thoughtful comments and increased awareness in the audience of the widespread problem of domestic violence.

"Cheyanne's Story" - working with our filmmaker David Lindblom we continue editing this poignant sharing by an 18 year old high school senior.

We will film our third story this January as the subject shares her experiences of violence in LGBTQ relationships and alternative artist communities.

We are in the beginning stages of developing a proposal to film dances based on poetry written by survivors of domestic violence.  Watch for more information about this in the coming months.
