Meditation and Announcements

Meditation:
All who lift themselves up will be brought low, and those who make themselves low will be lifted up.” (Luke 14:11 CEB) What does it mean to have a sense of privilege? One definition says privilege can be understood as “a right, immunity, or benefit enjoyed by a particular person or a restricted group of people beyond the advantages of most”. In almost all communities and congregations there are some people who live with a sense of privilege. We Christians might think of it as pride that fails to see the gifts of others or seeks to silence the voice of those not in our group. What do you do with that sense of privilege as a follower of Jesus Christ?

Parish Ed will be holding a meeting on March 22 at 7 pm in the church basement.  The purpose of the meeting is to identify volunteers for VBS and discuss some possible options for the program.  Parish Ed would also like the opportunity to discuss the possibility of holding Sunday School (pre-K through 5th grade only) during the service rather than immediately following the service.  This would not start until the 2021-2022 year.  We also need to identify who would be interested in assisting with Sunday School next year.  Thank you for your consideration; we hope to see you on March 22.

Bethlehem's 2021 OPERATION OREOS collection for our men and women currently in the military is accepting items now thru March.  Oreos and other items can be put in the tubs in the Mission Action room, dropped off at our house at 426 Hickory Street or the church office.  NO LIQUIDS PERMITTED.  Monetary donations are accepted as well.  I have 19 updated addresses but if you know of someone you would like a package sent to please notify me of the address.  The Pemberville Auxillary, SAL, Pemberville Legion and Bethlehem Lutheran Church Woman are supporting this project as well.  I would like to mail out the packages by Easter.  Thank you for and your donation and keep our military in your prayers.

Have a blessed day!
