From Brokenness to Community
Dear Fellow Disciples,
A week or so ago I finished a short book that I’d like to recommend to you: From Brokenness to Community by Jean Vanier.
This short book is one of the clearest reflections on what it looks like to live out the Gospel of Jesus. It’s challenging without being guilt-inducing.
Vanier founded the L’Arche (French for “The Ark”) communities around the world. L’Arche communities are places where people live together in intentional community with developmentally disabled adults.
As my friend Kathryn puts it: “Every time I re-read that book, it makes me want to be a better Christian.” I agree!
Persevering in Prayer,

In the mail next week you will be receiving details about our 2018 beyond-our-walls Christmas offering: Hope for Haiti. If you can’t wait, click the blue button below to read all about it.
Here are some links to recent sermons: Vicar Tim’s from All Saints Sunday and Pastor Matt’s from Reformation Sunday.
This Sunday is our women’s thankoffering worship service. Since it is Veteran’s Day, we will also be thanking and celebrating veterans. And during the Sunday school hour, we will have the chance to hear from Megan Boyk about the medical brigade to Honduras this past spring.
