Giving Tuesday Challenge
(But it’s not what you think.)

Dear Fellow Disciples,

Today is “Giving Tuesday”. It’s a day set aside to support charitable organizations that are making a difference in the world.

Of course, I’m going to invite you to consider our special offering, Hope for Haiti, as part of your Giving Tuesday generosity.

But I have an additional challenge for you this Giving Tuesday. (Full disclosure: I’m borrowing this idea from Pastor Kent Wilson, Director of Congregational Vitality for our synod.) The challenge is simple: Make five $5 donations to five different charities and then tell me about the experience.

You get the chance to make a small contribution to organizations you know and love and learn about the advantages (and challenges) of online giving.

I’m curious to hear what you’ll learn.

Persevering in Prayer,

Pastor Matt

Some Other Things

Have you made your contribution for our beyond-our-walls Christmas offering: Hope for Haiti? We are already 42% of the way to our goal, with over $10,000 raised. Rock on!

This Advent, we will be journeying through the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke. If you’d like to read along, here’s a schedule:
-Week of December 2: Luke 1:1-25
-Week of December 9: Luke 1:26-56
-Week of December 16: Luke 1:57-80

Sermons
Hope, King and Mission (11/25) – Pastor Matt

Thanksgiving (11/22) – Vicar Tim

The Widow’s Might (11/18) – Pastor Matt

How was your Giving Tuesday experiment? What did you learn?
