New Wing Top Sander Now Available

Our European launch client has now integrated four SRS-8831 Wing Top Sanders into their production line. This supplements the EMMA units they were already using to abrade underwing. The client even featured the new systems in their internal magazine. Temple Allen is now working with ergonomics and engineering personnel at the client's other facilities in Europe to set up demonstrations and expand the use of TAI equipment across the enterprise.

The particular Wing Top Sander configuration selected after comprehensive testing offers fluid delivery in conjunction with a pair of 3Mâ„¢ rotary tools mounted at an angle to optimize the tool pressure, resulting in improved process efficiency.

Other clients, conducting dry sanding operations, have found that one of our Integrated Vacuum models work best for them. Clients removing existing paint seem to prefer WTS units equipped with a leverage handle on the shaft (above right), while our customers reactivating primed surfaces prior to paint tend to prefer the single-sander units with handlebars (above left).

Our website now has a page featuring the Wing Top Sander, a downloadable product sheet, and a video of the system in use.

New Belly System Features
All Belly Systems delivered since July have a new chassis that lowers the minimum height to help access smaller aircraft (the model shown reaches surfaces as low as 30”). Available options shown on the unit pictured include AutoSweep, Operator Presence Control (OPC), and our Integrated Dust Collection system that feeds into HEPA-rated 3M™ Clean Sanding Filter Bags.

New Overhead Mounted Rail (OMR) Demonstration Unit
The first EMMA unit, installed at Boeing’s 737 Rudder Shop 10 years ago, is deployed from an overhead rail. Every overhead rail deployment since has been customized to the client’s facility – either suspended from the ceiling or a free-standing workstation. Temple Allen can now bring an OMR demo unit to your facility to perform trial sanding operations on your parts. Call us today to arrange for a demo in your facility at 301.541.3662 or send us an email. The OMR product also has a new brochure.

New Dual Orbital End Effector
New Dual Rotary End Effector
Our last items for this month are two new End Effectors, pictured above, and a brief vignette from our recent European demonstration tour, which, besides an important meeting with a major client's Hamburg operations, saw a very successful EMMAâ„¢ demo for a Norwegian shipyard that crafts carbon fiber yachts and ferries - a shipyard tucked into a beautiful fjord.
