It's been 17 years since the war drove us out of Bouaké, but we've been working on restoring the work there for about 2 years. It's really more like a new church plant; however, some of our people have returned to Bouaké and others are making plans to return.
We have an excellent opportunity to purchase a great piece of land in the downtown area of the city. Something that has been a dream of ours since 1998 when we planted our first downtown church. The land is well situated and has good access. Based on the current exchange rate, it will take about $12,000 to buy it. The church has the money in place for the documentation and the site prep. Could I make a bold request and ask you to include us in your Christmas Offering to help this thriving church?
Bouaké is the second largest city in Ivory Coast and has a rich trade heritage. It has been transformed by the war, as it changed from a city that was about 65% Muslim to a city that is now nearer to 85% Muslim. It is an extremely strategic place.
