YWAM Ships exists to bring medical care, health education and the Gospel to isolated people in remote parts of the world.
Our mission at YWAM Ships is to train up small teams of 'Backpack Journalists' to produce stories and encourage the Church with real-life faith accounts of how God is working in the world today.
We’re rolling through the Canadian praries now on the return leg of a 6-week, 20,000km cross-Canada tour to tell friends and family how God has been preparing us for media missions with YWAM.  And what a run it’s been!
"And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?"

A Watershed Moment

When we set out in May, the goal was simple: Tell friends and family across Canada about the deep, soul-work that God did to prepare us for this call. It's amazing to see what He can do when we set aside our personal agenda to share a simple testimony.

In doing so, we've seen others take permission to get real; to openly put issues under the light - to pray and to begin to heal.   That's the power of authentic story - and the reason we're excited about kicking off YWAM Ships' School of Digital Storytelling.

Looking ahead at our September launch with the YWAM Ships, we stand at a watershed moment in our ministry.  With a solid prayer team now in place, focus shifts to the crucial task of raising support to begin the work.

This is new ground for us both, but we are trusting God for everything according to His promises.  Haggai 2:19

  • Canada crossing was both safe and fruitful, with solid time to share honestly about God's redemptive work in our lives.
  • Blessings received from our children and parents to leave for full-time missions.
  • Answered prayer: Lindsay and Lani found a pet-friendly apartment in Vancouver so we won't have to give the dog (or the kids) away.
  • An encouraging gift that covers our airfare to Kona in September - whoo hoo!
  • Boldness and integrity as we focus efforts on the practical needs of initial training costs and longterm ministry expense.
  • Divine appointments and favour with corporate partners interested in backing YWAM Ships' School of Digital Storytelling.
  • Ongoing efforts to develop curriculum for the school in April 2019.
