The growing season is winding down, and we stand between the two final harvest holidays of the Wheel of the Year. It is a beautiful time to deepen our spirituality, release that which no longer serves and set new intentions for the coming season.
Today we gather for our in-person Sumbel to Freya!
Join us as we stay connected and come together to honor the Earth, Gods, Ancestors, and Wheel of the Year. We are stronger together. If you have an internet connection, or even just a phone, you can stay connected to the community.

Join us for an evening of ritual, myth and community at our Freya Sumbel followed by our Legends Lodge!
A Sumbel is Norse Pagan ritual consisting of rounds where each participant has a turn to toast, praise or hail a God, spirit or self, or make an oath. They then pour a beverage and everyone drinks. Traditionally there are three rounds. Wyoming Valley CUUPs facilitator, Raven Redfeather will lead us in a Sumbel focused around three aspects of the Goddess Freya. Freya is a Vanir Goddess of love, magic, warriorship and many other things.
Raven will begin each round by reading passages of the written lore on the aspect of Freya we will focusing on, followed by a toast to Freya. Going around the group, she will ask each participant how that aspect manifests in their life within their unique spiritual path.
After the third round, we will do a final toast to Freya asking her guidance in our ability to use these aspects in our lives to protect those defending women’s rights and reproductive health, something dear to Freya as well as our community.
With the reflections from the rounds of Sumble, Raven will then welcome CUUPs officer Shannon Saylor to guide us in Legends Lodge.
The Lodge is a place to gather with friends for the sharing of stories from our faith paths.
You're welcome to come to listen or to share! If you would like to tell a story, please plan to share a myth or tale from your tradition (ancient and contemporary myths welcome), a song or poem, or simply speak about what a specific Deity means to you. Please plan to speak for no more than 10 minutes.
This event is Bring-Your-Own-Beverages-And-Snacks (yes, mead is welcome)

Join us for Magick and connection in our online Full Moon ritual! Many of us started out as solitary practitioners on our Pagan and Witch paths. To those of us introverts, it can be quite a leap to seek out other like-minded groups. Online rituals can offer the best of both worlds to those who are more comfortable casting alone. You can turn off a video feed if you are more comfortable, set up your space and connect while being led in ritual simultaneously.
--
In Pagan practices, the Full Moon means many things. Abundance, spirituality, peak psychic ability, fertility, a good time for Magick, The Mystery. Something about that silvery light sets the subconscious to dreaming. Things are possible by moonlight that are not in the revealing light of day. We can be more truly ourselves, casting off some of the masks we layer on in order to fit in during our daytime lives. Our truths are easier to manage in moonlight. We’re more willing to step into Mystery, to allow dreams, and to listen to what our inner voice has to say.

We will also have Tarot, Rune and Oracle card readings available.

The tarot can help you understand yourself better and teach you how to tap your inner resources more confidently. You do not have to have "psychic powers" to use the tarot successfully. All you need is the willingness to honor and develop your natural intuition. If you're a new reader, this course will help you find your way to reading fluently over the course of several months. Join the Wyoming Valley CUUPs chapter as we dive into a different dark God, Goddess or other Spiritual Power each month around the dark moon. These lessons may include a degree of shadow work and self-reflection.
Dark Deities, Gods and Goddesses of the Underworlds, chaos, shadow and destruction, are sometimes thought of as bad in a binary good vs evil light.
These Deities may not hide their shadow side and may make some of us feel uncomfortable, but through that shadow we often find deep introspection, shadow work, self-improvement, devotion and even love.
This Dark Moon, we are honoring the Goddess Hecate.

Join members of the Wyoming Valley CUUPS community for an informal hangout and check-in. We believe cultivating community care is an important facet of us not just surviving, but thriving in the times we live in.
The Witching Hour is a social time. Everyone should have their favorite beverage at the ready. There are no rules about this beverage. ALL beverages are equally welcome.
This event does not have a structure per se. You are invited to attend as your true self, in the company of other Pagans. You may wear a hat, or not. You may paint your face, or not. Do you have a new tattoo? You can show us if you'd like! Did you just get a new item for your altar that is the absolute BEST THING YOU'VE EVER SEEN? Why yes, we would love to see that.
Depending on the number of attendees, Zooms raised hand feature may be used to direct the flow of discussion See you there!

Join Wyoming Valley CUUPS for our Samhain Rituals (and Potluck for our in-person gathering)!
Samhain falls at the time of year the light noticeably fades. Pagans reflect on and review the past year and welcome the Celtic New Year. In this season, Pagans also honor death as a part of the sacred circle of life and remember those who have died.
FOR OUR IN-PERSON RITUAL:
Arrive between 4:00-4:15pm
Ritual will start at 4:20PM
Please feel free to bring an item or items for the Ancestral/Remembrance Altar. This year, we will have spaces for Ancestors, Beloved Friends, Ancestors of the Order (ascended masters, trailblazing witches - the Mighty Dead of Witchcraft), and Animal Companions. We will also be hosting a Samhain ritual for the children at the same time for our in-person gathering!
Traditional dress for Samhain is harvest colors or dark colors (mourning dress).
If the weather is good, this will be an outdoor ritual. In the event of rain, we take our spiritual practice indoors.
After the in-person ritual, we will gather for the Potluck after the ritual. Please either keep ingredient list or label all offerings with the included ingredients to allow those with dietary restrictions to make healthy choices for themselves.
Our rituals like to include drumming, so feel free to bring a percussion instrument if you have one. Depending on the weather, we may do a fire outside and have a drum circle after our potluck. Its late October so probably not, but one can hope...
