reCreate featured artist: Joseph Carlough
Joseph Carlough has a passion for printing and formatting books.  He runs Displaced Snail Publications, a publishing outfit for homemade books, and has been in the zine game for 5 years. His workshop will concentrate on creating notebooks  and chapbooks out of recycled paper and other reclaimed materials.  His works below were made from paper and leather that he found here at The Resource Exchange! Theatre Artist Happy Hour at The Resource Exchange

Friday, July 26th 5pm-8pm

We will be hosting a free informal happy hour for local theatre artists who are interested in talking about greener theatre options.  Find out more about how The Arden, The Walnut, Simpatico, Azuka, and many other local theatre companies, schools, and Fringe productions are taking steps to prioritize reuse, recycling, and resource conservation.  Artists like Chris Haig, Properties Master of the Arden Theatre Company, will be here to discuss his use of reclaimed materials in his designs.

In the left photo, Haig is cutting the leaves for the tree design to the right.  The 'Remnant Tree' is part of his designs for the Writer's Room production At the Old Place, opening at the Arden July 18th.  The "leaves" are made from reclaimed velvet bought from The Resource Exchange!  Come on  July 26th for a free beer and chat about how you can incorporate recycled material into your next theatre project, right before Fringe too!
