'Tis (nearly!) the season

The holidays are approaching fast! Our shop is full of new material, fresh from film and television projects. We will be closed for Thanksgiving, but will reopen on Black Friday with the sale of the year: buy $25 or more of our already discounted reclaimed materials, get $5 back! $50 or more, get $10 back! and $100 or more, $20 back! Don't miss this great opportunity to find unique holiday gifts and materials to make your own.

Design Challenge + Art Star!
Our Art-from-the-Arts Design Challenge inspired such great ideas that we've decided to expand it into a long-term project culminating in a juried exhibition!

Our friends at Art Star will be collaborating with us to challenge local artists to creatively reuse material saved from Philadelphia’s visual and performing arts industries, and we can't wait to see the new works made from these previously wasted resources.  Stay tuned for more information on this project in the new year.
Stay with us this holiday season for rejoice, our month-long winter celebration. Join us Sunday, December 9th from 12-5 for a workshop with Handmade Philly. We'll be making holiday gifts and decorations -- free admission/supplies, with plenty of affordable materials from the shop. Visit our facebook for more info!
reCreate

The Resource Exchange is dedicated to enabling and promoting creative reuse in local art, craft, and design. Have you reCreated with materials from RE? Send us photos with a brief description of your work -- we'll feature new works in each newsletter, online, and in our store.

reCreate featured artist: Kata Kolb
Kata Kolb is the Scenic Charge artist at the Walnut Street Theatre. When she’s not painting beautiful theatrical scenery and backdrops, she creates imaginative fantasy paintings, collages, and dolls out of the previously wasted remnants behind the stage curtain.

We're looking for part-
