Canyon survey underway!
Your donations to the 2014 Christmas Appeal have enabled 9 people to participate this week in a fauna and flora survey of the Canyon National Reserve System property west of Undara.
The survey will focus predominantly on looking for Gouldian and Black-throated Finches, but also any other listed endangered or vulnerable species found on the property. Results will be reported on in the June/July edition of Protected.
Again, many thanks to all NPAQ members and supporters who gave so generously to this appeal!

Trail Running in Lamington National Park
NPAQ has been made aware of a trail running event planned for September in Lamington National Park - Coastal High. It is anticipated that this event will attract up to 350 participants, twice as many spectators and triple in size in future years. There may be issues associated with:
- Track damage from the volume of runners, especially to high conservation areas.
- The spread of myrtle rust into non-affected parts of Lamington and Springbrook.
- Access to the Border Track on the day of the event by the public.
- And the increasing commercialisation of national parks.

NPAQ is now listed with Every Day Hero! So if you would like to raise funds and awareness for NPAQ through an event you are planning such as a bushwalking challenge you can create a Supporter Page to collect donations from your family and friends.
You can also choose an existing major community event in your state such as the Bridge to Brisbane (happening in August) where the logistics of the event itself are already organised. All you have to do is set up a Supporter Page!
NPAQ can help you set up your Supporter Page too.
