Good food March and good food messages!
A great thanks to all who have contributed by sending a photo to the Good Food March photo action or contributing in any other way!
All the photos (more than 1.000!)  were shown during the Good Food Brunch in front of the European Parliament and  during the Conference in the Parliament. They have been were published in a booklet and given to Dacian Ciolos and other EU representatives. Ciolos demanded for more, so all agricultural ministers, all the other commissioners will receive one. There were a lot of constructive discussions, a lot of serious concerns have been articulated, not all solutions are on the table – but it was a good feeling to be part of such a motivated group who is ready to work together for a better common agricultural policy! Please find some photo-impressions from Simone Matouch on our Gallery.

Workshop on Agro-Ecological Innovation: In July 2012, Forum Synergies participated in the workshop on Agro-Ecological Innovation organized by IFOAM EU, TP organics and ARC2020.  Besides exchanges viewpoints on agro-ecological knowledge and innovation,  we were presented Horizon 2020, the policy framework for research and innovation for the period 2014-2020 and its consequences for food and agriculture research. And also  the European Innovation Partnerships, with operational groups which are supposed to close the gap between research and farming practices. Participants developed some ideas on future operational groups such as “Networks of farmers research clubs” or “Sharing knowledge about democratic governance of commons goods”. On November 15th, 2012, the Agro-Ecological Innovation project will present its work and its recommendations to policy makers and the media. For more information on the workshop reports and next event.

How to manage uncertainty in times of crisis? In a context of crisis and constant changes, how do farmers manage “uncertainty” related to unexpected changes in climate, policies, family, prices or territory  they might have to deal with in the future ? In July, 20 people from IVIFA (Spain), INTERAFOCG (France) and BAG  (Germany) exchanged in Valencia on the different approaches, methodologies and accompaniment  they develop for and with farmers. How they help farmers to build their own analysis, to take decision and make their project evolve.
