Radical Craft Night

3rd Friday: Radical Craft Night

Friday, November 21st
5-8PM | *Kid Happy Hour 4-5PM
$5 General, $3 Students & Seniors,
FREE for MAH Members & children under 3

Radical Craft Night is a festival of weird, non-traditional crafts in Santa Cruz. It’s a night of hands-on activities and live demonstrations from locals showing you their craft. We’re just hoping the live sheep doesn’t get too offended by the taxidermy on the 3rd floor. Not kidding on that last sheepy part. Join us for wool-crafting with Bethany Mann, Alison Smith, and Alison’s sheep named MacGregor.

Come aboard artist Wes Modes’ handcrafted “shanty boat,” and learn about his adventurous project: A Secret History of American River People. Wes took the boat on a journey to discover, present, and connect the lost narratives of people who live and work on the river. He'll be onsite to give tours of the boat.

Sew fabric cards and postcards with The Pajaro Valley Quilt Association, try out tri-loom weaving, yarn bomb chairs and learn how to use those old, fancy hand-cranked sewing machines with Sara Homan. Be transported into another time with a fiery blacksmithing demonstration by blacksmith Michael Wood on the front street entrance and explore stone sculpting with Michael Neeley and apple pressing with Thad Stockham in the back patio.

Kid Happy Hour is back! Don’t miss special art activities dedicated to families with young children from 4-5pm with special guests, The Balloon Art Brigade. Join us for yarn block printing, co-create a giant dream catcher & more.
