More cuts to CSIRO jobs and research 

Management documents reveal plans to retrench 75 researchers in manufacturing, agriculture and digital productivity. Members affected can access individual support from Staff Association organisers and delegates. Sign the pledge to fix bargaining impasse 

The Staff Association bargaining team recently met with CSIRO management for another round of enterprise agreement negotiations. However management's decision to follow the Government's inflexible bargaining framework continues to frustrate real progress. Our pledge also calls for an enterprise agreement that protects working conditions. Complete update here.  

Report shows dramatic fall in morale at CSIRO
An internal report – built on the responses of more than 1,200 staff – has confirmed the poor state of morale at CSIRO and not much confidence in the senior leadership of the organisation. Yet despite the climate of cuts and closures, staff remain devoted to CSIRO and passionate about performing science in the national interest. Read more here

Innovation Challenge 

Several CSIRO projects feature as finalists in the 2014 Innovation Challenge. Staff Association members can show their support by voting online, but act quick – voting closes midnight, this Wednesday 19 November. More on the Innovation Challenge here.   
 

Your vote matters

The ballot for CPSU election opens on Wednesday 19 December. All CSIRO section positions have been elected unopposed, however members can still vote in the election for National Secretary. Voting papers will arrive at your mailing address soon. Ballot closes 10 December. 

AGM Reminder 

The Staff Association Annual General Meeting will be held at CSIRO Clayton at 10am, Tuesday 2 December. The location is the G.K. Williams & Clive Pratt rooms, located in the Western Precinct, Building 101. AGM Agenda, Operating and Financial reports can be accessed here
