Time to consider our bargaining options 

Negotiations for a new enterprise agreement at CSIRO seem to be going nowhere, fast. What's becoming increasingly clear is that management’s support for the Government’s unworkable bargaining policy is to blame. It’s time for Staff Association members to consider our options. More here.
 

Yes! Minister.. for science 

In case you missed it, we have a Minister for Science again. Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane emerged as a winner from last December’s cabinet reshuffle, by adding science to his existing portfolio. The Minister will be assisted by Queensland MP Karen Andrews who scored a promotion to Parliamentary Secretary. More here.
 

Study shows climate change will hit hard 

CSIRO and the Bureau of Meteorology have released updated climate change projections for Australia, producing what's been described as the most robust picture yet of how Australia’s climate will change due to global warming. More from Guardian Australia here.
