CSIRO facing another round of job cuts

Despite initial assurances that the restructure process would not result in significant job cuts, CSIRO management have advised the Staff Association that almost three hundred positions may go, with support roles particularly at risk. These latest cuts follow the loss of hundreds of ongoing and contract positions over the past year. Latest CSIRO cuts threaten clever country 

The Staff Association has slammed the plan to cut hundreds of jobs and management's failure to keep staff informed. “If realised, this latest round of cuts will bring the total number of jobs lost to nearly 700 – more than a ten per cent cut to the CSIRO workforce since the start of the financial year,” Secretary Sam Popovski said.
