What a great Sprint 15 sailing season and thank-you to all those sailors who have been out on the water enjoying themselves. If you managed to attend one or more of the Sprint 15 events we hope you enjoyed your racing and the Windsport support - please plan to do more next season!  The Windsport team is small, so on the phone, at events or via email you are always talking direct with a member of the team that make things happen!
As many sailors know Windsport  takes “event support” seriously and rarely mixes this support with personal sailing, never the less the best Sprint 15 sail I had this year was during the  Sprint Nationals at Pentewan.  Sailing with junior sailor “Holly” as super crew it was a real pleasure to chase  “Grumps” Snell around the course and mixing it up with the rest of the fleet, thanks Holly and thanks “Snell Team Support” for covering the Windsport beach office and work shop!

Next year the Windsport team is looking forward to the Sprint 15’s first ever “International event”  at Eurocat Carnac.  Windsport is planning to be there and hoping to be one of the Sprint 15 boats going head to head with the rest of Europe we hope to see you there as well.

New boats
We have worked hard to bring the Sprint 15 manufacturing home and are now hoping for a steady flow of new boat orders in the future to make it all worthwhile!  The new boats look the part and proven to perform well, a new boat, like a new car, can give you the edge on your previous performance, save on maintenance and replacement parts. The new Sprint 15 has all the latest class updates, mouldings and extrusions  - ready to race at the highest fleet level.
If you are considering a new boat or up-grading for the 2014 season, talk with the Windsport team in the next few weeks, before December 14th 2013, make a worthwhile saving and beat the 2014 new price. Limited availability so first come first served. The Windsport demonstrator is a great up-grade! Call us for details.
Recent production changes
Sprint 15 production requires a number of injection moulded items, in the past these have been manufactured in large batches for effective production costs.  Further recent Windsport investment  in Sprint production has led to many of these injection moulded parts being manufactured in-house by the Windsport team to provide a more realistic stocking level , quicker response to demand and quality control.

Looking towards 2014

Windsport has seen more new cat sailors joining and others returning to the Sprint 15 fleet, it is healthy and full of action thanks to the work of the class association team and numerous enthusiastic individuals around the country.
The 2014 Eurocat Event will be a new chapter in the activities of the class, it is a great venue and  event, special in part as fellow Sprint 15 sailor, Nick Dewhirst, always enjoyed the Eurocat events.   I am sure Nick will be there in spirit and expecting a “good turn-out” so try not to disappoint him!
Going faster and improving your  race results does not come automatically, if you are interested in boosting  your racing skills why not consider a Windsport coaching session from your own club or visit us here at Windsport, bring your own boat or sail one of our new ones!, it could become part of your “New Boat Package”

Keeping the ball rolling

The Windsport team thank all the Sprint 15 sailors who continue to help promote the class at their club and elsewhere.  As said before, if every Sprint 15 sailor brings just one person to the fleet and encourages them to starts sailing at club events - the class fleet would double in size, making better sailing for yourself and everyone else.
Who are you going to invite this weekend for a sail and encourage them to get involved?
See you on the circuit 2014
