A Black Yield Institute and Farm Alliance Collaboration.

You are invited to a brief Planning Session for a Public Workshop on How We Win Community Control of Land & Food in Baltimore. We will plan the workshop, give updates, and share learnings from other cities who have begun the process of land reparations for Black communities. It is past time for Black communities in Baltimore to win full control of land for growing and selling food. Some ways we might do this include: Changing the city's land disposition policies, zoning code, water billing practices, and more.

WHERE: Zoom
WHEN: Thursday, June 4th, at 4pm
RSVP: Send us a message on Facebook, Instagram, or reply to this message and we will send you a link to the Zoom meeting for 4pm Thursday. For security reasons, link will be sent 30 minutes before the start time.

BLACK YIELD INSTITUTE: Black Yield Institute (BYI) is a Pan-African power institution addressing food apartheid. We work collaboratively with black people and entities, along with other institutions, in pursuit of Black Land and Food Sovereignty. We are organizing to build independent power by establishing an action network and serving as an incubator for ideas and projects. We are on a mission to create a self-determined and self-reliant community of Black institutions and people of African Descent in Baltimore’s poor and Black food environments.
FARM ALLIANCE OF BALTIMORE: The Farm Alliance's mission is to expand communities' self-determination and power with respect to land, water and food. We support Black communities' control of land and food as elements of the June 4th demand of the Movement for Black Lives' Week of Action.
