May 2015

May is here, and soon Baby Kazda will be too! We are very excited for the new arrival, and getting prepared to take off of work for a short time. Please read the article below to stay up to date on Dr. Brenda's maternity leave and post-partum schedule changes. We thank you in advance for your patience during our transition.

We are also having a contest at the office for Baby Kazda! Guess the baby's sex, weight, size and due date to win prizes!

In honor of Mother's Day, we are sharing some of our past articles on Chiropractic and Pregnancy, and Celebrating Women's Health in May. Don't forget that infrared sauna sessions and essential oils make fabulous Mother's Day gifts as well!

Due to the arrival of the new baby, and a change in office hours for the next couple of months,  we will not be offering any additional classes or workshops during the months of May, June or July.

May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month! Our personal trainer Chris Kazda is offering a great deal on FREE infrared sauna sessions when you purchase fitness training packages ALL month long!

If you are getting outside and more active with this spring weather, be sure to read our Weekend Warrior Safety Tips to prevent injury when doing yard work and increasing physical activity. If you suffer from allergies, be sure to learn more about how Lavender essential oil can help, and also consider trying acupuncture for relief.

We are now on InstagramPinterest and YouTube!

Celebrate Women's Health in May

Dr. Brenda Trudell

Women's Health Week is May 10-16th

They say we are created equal, but when it comes to health issues, men and women are very different and should be treated differently. Women have unique health circumstances, such as menstruation, pregnancy and menopause, hormone cycles that are not present in men, and they metabolize drugs, supplements and foods differently.  May is National Woman’s Health Month, and we want to help women take steps towards a longer, healthier, happier life.

Today’s lifestyle is very different from generations past.  Along with technological advances designed to make our lives easier comes added stress as we try to cram more into each day.  Our physical health suffers as more things are done for us, causing us to be less active.  Nutrition also decreases as more foods are prepared and processed, and have less nutritional value. When you add stress, less exercise and poor nutrition to an already delicate system, the results can be detrimental for women’s health.

Find The Funny
Christopher Kazda

Engaging in a challenging workout may put you on track for reaching your fitness goals, but if your routine isn’t fun, and you leave dreading your next workout, then you’re probably on a collision course with failure. Working out is hard. It takes discipline and commitment. And yes, it’s so much easier (and often times enjoyable) to put on the weight than to take it off.
We all the power to choose our reaction to a difficult situation: We can overreact, get angry, and risk making things even worse. Or we can just lighten up and find the funny. Imagine contacting your healthcare provider and him/her saying, “Watch two comedy movies and call me in the morning.” Laughter is a great healer. Studies show it lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, increases muscle flexion, and boosts immune function by raising levels of T cells, which fight infection, and B cells, which produce disease-destroying anti-bodies.
