Come for the Benefits, Stay for the Experience

October 2013
share on Twitter Like National Chiropractic Month; Patient Appreciation Week on Facebook
What a gorgeous autumn we are having this year! Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather before it's all gone.

Fall is a great time for slowing down, reflecting, and taking care of your health. Often we are forced to, due to the flu or other illness stopping us in our tracks. It is always better to be proactive and boost your immune system, get plenty of rest and exercise, and listen to your body before it's too late. Incorporating a Fall Detox/Cleanse is a great way to purge toxins and boost immunity.

October is National Chiropractic Month, and the focus this year is to "Get Vertical!" In other words, get up and get moving! Read our featured article for tips on maintaining joint health. In honor of National Chiropractic Month, we are planning many events, specials and health talks to help celebrate. We will also be having a Patient Appreciation Week filled with great stuff!

We would like to welcome a new practitioner to our office, Terry Haag, RN, BSN. On Tuesdays, Terry will be providing Craniosacral Therapy, Brain Gym, and starting in January, teaching an Intuitive Development class. She is a great asset and has many years of experience working as an OB nurse, Lamaze instructor and school nurse for Lodi Schools. We are excited to have her with us. Be sure to meet her at our Open House!

National Chiropractic
Health Month:
Get Vertical!

Brenda Trudell, DC

Did you know that October is National Chiropractic Health Month? Every year the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) focuses on a different health related issue and how it ties into chiropractic. This year the theme is focused on joint health, and its impact on living a good life and healthy aging. With that in mind, the ACA is encouraging Americans to "Discover Chiropractic...Get Vertical", and is promoting physical activity as a way to help the joints in the body.

The ACA is emphasizing joint health because joints are critical to all movement and allow us to carry out normal activities of daily living. Some 150 million to 200 million cases of low back pain send people to the doctor every year, and many of those are related to joint injuries.

Essential Oil of the Month: Cedarwood

EaCedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) has a warm, balsamic, woody aroma. It is relaxing and soothing when used for massage, and has long been used as a beneficial ingredient in cosmetic preparations for oily skin. It has a relaxing effect and is great for grounding when you have had a stressful day. Try diffusing into the air, or rub some directly onto the soles of your feet. Rub a drop or two between your palms and inhale deeply while cupping your hands over your mouth and nose. Beneficial for sleeping and meditation.

For more info on how to order these or other essential oils, please call our office at 437-9990, or email Chris chriskazda@hotmail.com.

We Want You!

We are looking to add additional providers at the office! If you know of someone who would be interested in renting space in a multi-practitioner natural health clinic, please have them contact us! Services that would be a great fit include craniosacral therapist, naturopath, reiki, yoga/pilates instructor, reflexologist, herbalist, raindrop therapy, midwife, doula, or life coach. We are also looking for guest speakers to teach classes on a varitey of topics in our Community Room. Please let us know today if you are interested!

Hard to believe we are coming up to the end of the year already. This is a reminder that you may have met your insurance deductible for the year, or have remaining chiropractic visits to use, or may have unused flex spending money to use up before the end of 2013. Whichever is the case, don't let your hard earned money and benefits go to waste. Our office would be happy to call your insurance company and verify benefits for you. Schedule your appointments now before spots fill up and it's too late.

We hope you enjoyed this month's newsletter. Please stay in contact with us,
we love to hear from you.
