Hi 

It looks like Spring is on its way, a few sunny days and we all feel so much better. 
I have enjoyed getting back to fitness and been really pleased with how fast my knee is improving. Nearly back to full strength and the classes are helping me so much, 

Thursday mornings colour has now changed to Pink , the brighter the better and talking of colours, get your bright colours on for class, its so much more cheerful when we look like a rainbow. 

As you know I am extremely keen on making sure our classes and exercises are effective and make sure we stay strong, mobile and fit. Further on down the newsletter is a short article about the new warm up we are using in some classes and why its important for us all.

Read this powerful message from one of our class. Its a privilege
to support people returning to fitness after illness, surgery or diagnosis. But its a joy to know that I, with the support of a fantastic fitness class, can help. Exercise has a massive role to play in our mental and physical health. 
This lady is an inspiration to many and unfailingly cheerful.

I got diagnosed last June with an illness. I honestly thought this is it. Had to give up work and change my life. Give up gym as i could physically not do it. Deb talked me into coming back for just half hour of class. First time i came i cried and Deb told me "no crying". Now I'm back to coming twice a week and doing more each time.
I would of given up if it wasnt for you nagging. Cant believe how far i have come thanks to you X


The class are all friendly and its about more than the exercises at times. 
I love hearing people in our classes planning to meet up for coffee and sorting plans out.

New Styles and New ideas to maximise our time and stay fit and healthy.

                                       

I am loving the new Flow Warm up that we are using in some of our classes as its massively effective for working our posterior chain effectively and safely. Its also a gorgeous flowing start to a class. 
Why is this important ? Have a read below. 
 

Posterior Chain “The powerhouse of the human Body”

Let’s have a look at the posterior chain. The posterior chain is the foundation of our body also called “The powerhouse”. All the largest and most powerful muscles are included and these muscles are designed to hold you upright the whole day long, but for most people these muscles stop working because we spend more and more time in a seated position. As we sit the whole day; lack of exercise and sedentary lifestyle is a problem of this century. This then goes on to cause a lot of physical problems, but the most common problem comes from the lower back. 

Lower Back problems

How many people suffer with lower back pain? And what could be the problem that leads to lower back pain? Most people will give the answer “bad posterior”, however this isn’t exactly true. Instead, it is down to the lifestyle of a lot of people from sitting long hours and having a sedentary lifestyle.

Muscles

The posterior chain includes all the muscles that run from your foot, up through your calves, along the back, through your seat, lower back, along either side of your spine and finishing under your skull.

Looking at facebook today and a lady from another fitness class commenting that she hasn't lost the weight that she wanted and feels a failure. 
If I ever hear any of you say that I would be so so cross. No woman is ever a failure for her size.
We all do fitness for far more than a dress size.

I have planned some family time away this year and am also travelling with the British Gymnastics Team to the European Championships as Team manager, 
The following days there will be no adult classes. Apologies for any disruption, but I know you all understand my commitment to GBR plus the need to have some time off.
