Welcome to our Summer newsletter

Its been a very busy time for me, working on new routines for dance fit, getting new exercises for the sculpt classes and also taking time off to take the British team to the world championships. I am sure most of you have seen the history making results of my club being the first British gymnasts of this age to win a world medal, and know the hard work that went into it.  
A few weeks ago I had a Thursday off to travel to Lilleshall and film a gymnastics promotion video with our very own Lola Lawrence

Question of the month 

When a food is advertised as containing less fat or 0% fat. It generally has more sugar in it ! So what’s better ? More fat less sugar ? Or less fat and more sugar?

Not sure what we do at classes? 
Sam Fisher came into class recently to take some photos of us all working out, I was really pleased how much laughing we seem to do and there are some stunning photos of us all working out that I will be using on social media and the newsletters,


Summer Towel competition is off and running again
Please bring towels to 

A - keep the mats clean and hygienic
B - win a lovely bunch of flowers

I have started uploading all the photos onto an album on our facebook page  - vote for your favourite 
 
The following classes are cancelled due to commitments 
* June 22nd, Friday  - British championships 
* June 25th  - 29th. - Holiday :) 


 



Help our gymnasts 


 HARVEST HOME - we are again performing on 4th August, please help support us at this fundraiser by donating all your unwanted bottle bags plus bottles of wine/beer/cider plus bottles of water.
Please hand into class and thank you for all your support.
BIG BALLS

We are waiting delivery of more big fitness balls for use in lots of the classes.
They add even more variety and effectiveness to your workouts  

 
Move of the Month

A wonderful ballet move -  Releve

Why?

  1. It strengthens the ankles and feet
  2. Tones the calf muscles
  3. Improve balance
  4. Strengthen the mid body 
How?
  1. Standing with feet hip apart, weight on the big toes, lift with control and hold for up to 10 seconds.
  2. Keep the tummy pulled in and breath 
  3. Stand tall, don't lean forward.

Question of the month 


When a food is advertised as containing less fat or 0% fat. It generally has more sugar in it ! So what’s better ? More fat less sugar ? Or less fat and more sugar?  

Answer  -  anything that says low fat or low sugar also has the invisible words "chemical shit storm" written on it in invisible ink. 
Avocado and nuts don't have that written on them, lovely good quality "proper" food doesnt need signs. Eat clean good quality food like strawberries that don't need a label. !
