Hello Friends!

Hello and happy fall! It is finally starting to cool off and days are becoming shorter.  As I'm sure many of you would agree, it feels like this year has passed quickly! Here at Health for Life Naturopathic Medicine, we are coming up on the one year anniversary in our new office. With the addition of our IV Therapy area and Treatment Center for acupuncture, we have been able to meet the needs of our patients who have requested more specialized healing opportunities.

With the arrival of the fall season and cooler weather comes a higher susceptibility to infection.  Cold and flu season is right around the corner, so now is the time to prepare your immune system for staying healthy and balanced.  We have highlighted below some of the more common vitamins and minerals that help keep your immune system strong and able to fight infection.

1. Vitamin A- Protects the body against bacterial, viral and parasitic infection

2. Vitamin C- Powerful antioxidant with antihistamine effects

3. Vitamin D- Used to mobilize and activate the body's immune cells

4. Magnesium- Deficiency can result in stress and anxiety which suppresses immunity

5. Zinc- Essential mineral utilized by the immune system

Through the end of 2013, we will be running a special on Immune Supporting IVs and Injections. Our Immunity IVs are $75 per session.  Additionally, we are offering four B12 injections for $40.

Try this easy chia seed concoction cleverly called "EnerChia Shooters." Mix 3 tbs chia seeds, 2 cups water or fruit juice (add more to your liking if needed) and 1 tbsp honey in a glass jar. Refrigerate the mixture overnight.  It will be gelatinous by morning, and can be a quick snack before your morning walk or run. Just gulp and go!

Come experience the calmness of our Treatment Center and reduce the stress associated with today's active lifestyle.  Additionally, acupuncture is a great treatment option for acute sports injuries, chronic pain, digestive issues and hormone balancing.
Chia seeds became largely popular in the endurance sporting community following the release of Chris McDougal's book "Born to Run." Some would consider them a "super food" and swear to the health benefit and fitness gains associated with these power packed seeds. They are gluten-free, high in magnesium, calcium, potassium, fiber, and Omega-3 fatty acids.  They are easy to add to all sorts of meals and can even be used as an egg replacer for those individuals with egg intolerances.

Come and receive a homeopathic flu preventative injection for only $30! Already have the flu, then this shot is for you too. This injection works by stimulating the immune system to fight off viral infections.  Call to schedule an appointment soon!
