Cobb County Republican Women's Club update...

Due to concerns surrounding the Coronavirus,
the March 20th luncheon has been cancelled.

Sheila J. Brower, CCRWC PresidentIt is hard to believe the first quarter of 2020 is here and almost over. Our January and February luncheons were very successful… thank you for attending and for all the favorable comments!

First, our dear longtime member, Babe Atkins-Byrne, is in bad shape (according to the call I received) and has been transferred to Kennestone. They found gallstones throughout her system and have scheduled another surgery for her today. As we receive updates, we will share the information on her health.  Please keep she and Bill in your prayers.

Many of you had questions regarding “accountability” after our last meeting when we had our panel with Superior Court Judges Ann Harris and Mary Staley Clark and moderator Angie Davis, Clerk of the State Court. Angie sent me information on “Restoring Lives Alliance, Inc.,” which exists to support and facilitate the missions of the Superior and Juvenile Accountability Courts of Cobb County (HERE). Please search accordingly for more information.

Our Campaign Chair Toria Morgan has provided District maps for each of the campaigns on our website (HERE). Cobb has numerous county positions that are up for election and as Republicans it is our responsibility to Get out the VOTE!

Don’t forget to verify your voting status because most of our Republican seats are being challenged. We cannot let Cobb lose any of the elections.

As I mentioned before, we have a lot to do this year and we appreciate your input. We will continue to have the suggestion box and hope you will help us as we work toward luncheon meetings that you will enjoy… and if you are not a member, we urge you to join CCRWC! We would love to have you! We have many opportunities to put you on a committee and you DO make a difference.

I also want to remind you that March 31st is the deadline for joining CCRWC if you want to be listed in our printed directory. The online membership application is available from the website (HERE) and we will have membership forms at the luncheon. Directory sponsorship opportunities are also available. The rates are $100 for the inside front and the back page, $50 for a half-page and $25 for a business card ad. (ORDER HERE)

If you have any questions regarding membership, please feel free to contact Lori Chastain at lpchastain@gmail.com

I look forward to all we are going to accomplish together and to hearing your suggestions/comments... we are here to Get Out the Vote in 2020!
VICTORY IN 2020!!!

Thanks,

Sheila Brower
2020 CCRWC President

P.S. If you lost an earring at the February meeting, please reply to this email to let Melissa Pimentel know what it looked like. She will make arrangements to get it back to you.

Major Crisis in Cobb County

Toria Morgan
CCRWC Campaign Chairman

We face a major crisis in Cobb County.
  • Of the three congressmen representing Cobb County TWO are democrats.
  • Because of the way the U.S. Senatorial campaign is playing out, we could divide the vote as republicans and end up with a democrat U.S. senator.
  • Our sheriff is being assailed in the paper because he won't coddle the inmates.
  • Our Cobb state delegation is democrat and they are challenging all of our republican seats!
  • If we lose one seat on the school board it will flip from republican to democrat.
  • We currently have 4 republicans on the Cobb County Commission:
    • three seats are up for election,
    • we stand the possibility of dividing the votes and having a democrat elected,
    • we could conceivably be transformed info a democrat-led county commission.
We have multiple county positions up for election from our District Attorney to the Tax Commissioner. (HERE)

Cobb has trended blue often enough to render us a purple county.
  • If you have been around for very long, you will remember that in the 1960s and 70s Dekalb County was the garden spot of the metro area,
  • if we don't take these challenges seriously we are going to be in the same situation as Dekalb is now, a former garden spot.
Get district maps for each of the campaigns HERE.

I am also in the process of creating a list of all republican candidates who will be on the ballot in Cobb County and the information needed to volunteer in their campaign.

If you represent a campaign and have not given me your information, please do so. I can't share what I don't have. You may email me at campaignchair@ccrwc.org.

If you are a member of CCRWC, there is NO REASON for you not to be involved in a campaign.
  • Please look at the maps.
  • Determine who is running in your area.
  • Choose a candidate.
  • Go to work!
If you are undecided, attend our candidate's forum coming up in April. Listen to the candidates and then make a decision as to who you not only will vote for, but who you will work to elect.

A decision to do nothing at all
is a decision to allow Cobb to turn blue.
