Cobb County Republican Women's Club update...

Happy Flag Day (June 14th)
& Happy Father's Day (June 21st)!

Sheila J. Brower, CCRWC PresidentIt is hard to believe that the first day of summer is coming up…where did the time go?  For many of us, we have been in our homes staying safe, wearing our masks and recently praying that the outcome of all of the protesting will be a positive one. I know each and every one of you has been holding our country up as we pray for change. We have to love each other and all work together for a unified country! Saying that, we would love for everyone who will be attending our General Luncheon meeting June 26th to wear their best RED, WHITE AND BLUE in recognition of not only having the opportunity to meet together again but to celebrate the 4th of July! We will have our room decorated with flags to celebrate American Independence Day. July 4th is a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an Independent nation.

We are very proud to announce that we will having our General Luncheon Meeting on June 26th at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel & Conference Center located at 500 Powder Springs St. SW, Marietta, GA from 11:30-1:00 p.m., which is our usual meeting place. Watch for more information in the rest of this newsletter regarding our speakers and other information. Be assured we are taking all the safety precautions required and so is the Hilton. We are requesting that you wear your masks when you are going through registration. We are also asking that you to PRE-REGISTER AND PAY IN ADVANCE due to social distancing rules and we are asking that you do this as soon as you can to have the room set-up according to registration numbers. For our members  working the registration desk we are asking that you wear a mask at that time… masks please. Go to www.CCRWC.org to register. More information regarding our speakers and sponsors is below in this newsletter.

We will also be honoring our dear member Babe Atkins-Byrne, who passed award April 3rd, and the winners of the Babe Atkins-Byrne Scholarship will be announced at the meeting.

Many of you have heard, too, that due to the Coronavirus, the City of Marietta has made the decision to cancel all events scheduled for July 4th including the Let Freedom Ring Parade, festivities on the square and the fireworks show. We realize that was a hard decision to make. Some have made the decision to hold patriotic decorating contests within their neighborhoods and their businesses… even patriotic pets. Those who show off their love of country are invited to enter a contest put on by the city with photos of your decorations. Go to the city’s website to enter for additional information.

It is also our hope that every one of you voted. The primary runoff will be July 13th and please put the date on your calendar. AND, remember the November election will be one of the most important elections in modern times. We can make a difference… we can’t even imagine our country under those who have an agenda to destroy this country as we know it… we have to stop those who are wanting to lead us toward socialism. I hope you too feel the urgency to keep America great and to protect us from the socialist agenda of the far left. Voting, volunteering if you can, and putting a sign in your yard will make a difference… YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE. We need your prayers for our country, our leaders and for our President. We have so many challenges facing us and especially our young people.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Membership Chair Lori Chastain at lpchastain@gmail.com. We will also have this information and, as mentioned before, a membership form on our website (HERE).

May God continue to bless you all and keep you safe.  See you June 26th!  Mask please when you check-in….

Thanks,

Sheila Brower
2020 CCRWC President
