Let's win again in 2020!

Thanks to this month's luncheon sponsor!

Sheila J. Brower, CCRWC PresidentI will begin this newsletter with two important messages:

First, August 11th is the primary runoff election…Your vote does make a difference.
On election day voters must go to their assigned polling location which will be open from 7a.m. to 7p.m.  To locate your precinct, please visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov....WE WANT YOU TO VOTE! My second important message is that the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote is on August 26th, which is the day the 19th Amendment was certified. It was the Republican Party that pioneered the right of women to vote, and the Republican Party was the first major party to advocate equal rights for women and the principle of equal pay for equal work! We’ve come a long way and never, never take this privilege for granted…VOTE! VOTE REPUBLICAN!

Our next General Luncheon Meeting will be August 21st at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel & Conference Center located at 500 Powder Springs St. SW, Marietta, GA from 11:30-1:00 p.m. Please put that date on your calendar. This is a date change from our original schedule which we posted at the beginning of the year. There are times when we have to be flexible to fit our speakers’ schedules.

U. S. Congressman Barry Loudermilk, representing Georgia’s 11th District, will be our speaker. Congressman Loudermilk recently said in a Marietta Daily Journal op-ed that “the United States of America is not just a place, it’s not just a people, and it’s not just a government. America is an idea — an idea built on the principle that God created all people equally, with inalienable rights, which include the right of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To preserve these rights, our Founders envisioned a nation built on that divine prospect and established a government whose primary purpose to was to protect those rights.” He will discuss legislation being considered by Congress that will affect our nation and Georgia.

Again, we are requesting that you wear your masks when you are going through registration. We are also asking that you PRE-REGISTER AND PAY IN ADVANCE and that you do this as soon as you can so social distancing can be set up based on registration numbers we will give to the Hilton.
Please join us and register by going to our website at www.CCRWC.org.

We will also give you an opportunity to volunteer to serve with CCRWC in numerous capacities… we have to win this election and we need your help if only for a brief time out of your day/week. All of us working together will make the difference in our country and in Georgia. Republicans Rock! Republican candidates need your involvement and vote to win!

We received the following from Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger:

Elections in Georgia are made possible because of the thousands of Georgians who step up to the extraordinary call to serve as a poll worker. Turnout for the upcoming election is expected to break national and state records. Now more than ever, we must act to help manage this increase in voter turnout. I am asking for your consideration in publicly partnering with the Office of the Secretary of State to promote poll worker recruitment within your organization by email, social media and word of mouth. My office has created a user-friendly poll worker recruitment website and toolkit to aid in county poll worker recruitment efforts. For your convenience, I have included the toolkit along with this. While we recognize that county officials run elections, civic groups, trade associations, and community leaders can support our counties by serving as a poll worker on Election Day. Please consider sharing the online poll worker sign-up form with your organization and ask that they list the name of your organization under “organization.” This information will then be provided to county election offices, which have the responsibility of staffing of polling places and training poll workers. It is estimated that over five million Georgians will vote at roughly 2,600 polling places in the November General Election. Having enough poll workers is key to ensuring everyone who is eligible to vote has the opportunity to exercise that right on Election Day. I appreciate your consideration of my request to partner with us to recruit poll workers for Election Day, November 3, 2020. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or to my Director of External Affairs, Sam Teasley, at samteasley@sos.ga.gov or 404-615-9593.

Your help is needed! Please volunteer.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at president@CCRWC.org or if you have questions regarding membership contact our Membership Chair Lori Chastain at lpchastain@gmail.com. We would love to have you join CCRWC! We will have membership information available at our meeting and, if you prefer, you can also go to our website to obtain a membership form at www.CCRWC.org.

Please stay safe and God bless each one of you! We’ll see you August 21st and don’t forget WEAR A MASK when you check-in.

The next luncheon will be Friday, August 21st. (Moved up to the 3rd Friday of August.)
The Hilton is a COVID-compliant facility and works very hard to keep their establishment safe for all who visit. Please make sure you wear a mask while going through the cafeteria-style food line (food served by Hilton staff) and please do not move the dining chairs around. Out of respect for the Hilton and its staff, let's try not to do anything that may put them at risk of being non-compliant. RSVP ASAP so they can plan the seating arrangement. (Thank you.)
