Our two newest courses have launched...

We are celebrating our new courses with a virtual launch party! It's family-friendly and free - Join us! And invite your students and their families. This is a chance for you, your students and their families to support Music Workshop!

On September 20th at 5pm (Pacific time) we are bringing you Inspire Live, an hour-long livestream broadcast filled with the magic of music from Latin America, clips from our Latin American courses and incredible performances from our very own Maestros!

Along with all the fun, there will be an opportunity to support Music Workshop's next courses on the music of Africa. Please get your students and their parents involved to support Music Workshop so we can continue to bring you more inspiring content! We are thrilled to have an event that everyone can participate in!

The new courses are the latest exciting additions to our "Culture" Series. We are honored to be able to create and provide music education that is equitable and inclusive to cultures that are underrepresented in today's K-8 education.

We know your students will love them!

Learning about Latin American music’s unique genres and instruments, students dive into the history and musical influences that created each country's diverse styles of music.

Mexico, Central America & the Caribbean

  • Mexico - Mariachi and Ranchero 
  • Cuba - Mambo and Cha Cha Cha
  • Jamaica - Reggae 
  • Dominican Republic - Merengue and Bachata
  • Puerto Rico - Bomba, Plena and Reggaeton
  • Trinidad & Tobago - Calypso and Sola

  • Belize - Brukdown
  • The Fun Fact from this course is an introduction to the religious holiday, the Day of the Dead with its strong musical traditions
  • Explore instruments like the vihuela, guitarrón, maracas, congas, bongos, steel pan drum and a donkey's jawbone!

  • Colombia - Cumbia and Vallenato
  • Venezuela - Joropo
  • Argentina - Tango
  • Brazil - Samba
  • Paraguay - Guarania

  • The Fun Fact is an introduction to the Latin Grammy Awards and some of the diverse artists that are honored
  • Features instruments like the caja, guacharaca, gaita flute, bandola Ilanera and contrabajo
