Remote Teaching with Music Workshop

In response to the current COVID-19 situation, we wanted to reach out with information about our program. Although Music Workshop was not designed to be taught remotely or on a 1:1 basis - music teachers and the group experience are integral to the program - we understand that our public health situation demands flexibility and creativity.

To that end, we wanted to share information about how to use our program to be part of your School Closure Plan...

Load Courses into a program like Google Classroom

As you know, one of the useful parts of the program is the ability to download the videos. This was designed to circumvent the need to stream the content since speeds are unreliable. But in this context it allows the videos to be loaded into a virtual classroom programs like Google Classroom, EdPuzzle or others. (Please find links attached to names for a "How-to" article).

We are aware that you will likely download more than one course. Please answer "School Closure Plan" on the Feedback Form question regarding student reactions. We hope you will share with us at a later date the student reactions via Feedback Form (it can be submitted multiple times).

*Note: We are not endorsing any particular virtual classroom program, the examples above are solutions we have heard about from our teachers. As mentioned, Music Workshop courses are designed to be taught by a music teacher in their classroom.

Use supplemental material documents

Each course includes a "Fill-in Sheet" pdf document in the Optional Documents list. This fill-in sheet can be sent as is, or you can create a google form (if you are using Google Classroom). Attached is a link to an example for Musicals.

One last thing, YOU!

Please let us know if you have better solutions or ideas that should be shared! We have over 2300 teachers that use our program and they would love to hear from you. Also, please feel free to share about the Music Workshop program with your fellow music teachers. Music is for everyone - especially now.

Happy to help.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We will do our best to help out with solutions in these trying times.
