Silver wire jewellery & mosiac art by Tammy Betson and Original Art by Mark Betson
June consisted of the usual regular markets and the odd bigger events, we are really gearing up for the summer now! It included a larger event held on the 20th June on the Castle Green - Somerfest. This was a fantastic event with loads going on and luckily for us a lot of it happened on the Castle Green, not only did we have a larger than usual market, with street food and craft stalls, but we also had an array of entertainment, including a man in his underpants on a tight rope juggling fire and knives! musicians, theatre groups, dancers and much more and on the green you could have a go at circus skills and watch the acrobatics.
You may remember last month I gave you a little sneak preview of Mark's latest painting in progress, well here is the final piece.
It still has the same intricate details of his previous paintings, however this one is no tree painting!!
I'm loving the way Mark's paintings are progressing he is really finding his style now and I think this one is stunning.
Our daughter has named her "Clary" after one of the characters in her favourite books - she is an avid reader and hopes one day to be a novelist, so watch this space, we are eagerly awaiting the final copy of one of the three books she has been working on for the last 5 years.
He also finished this painting, which he discovered half completed in a cupboard in the studio. Many people are often shocked when I tell them a man has painted them as they find some of them quite feminine but I think this one has a masculine feel to it, so hopefully will appeal to all our male followers.
I have also been busy this month, introducing lots of new designs to my mosaic collection, including clocks and pendants and of course I am always busy with my wire work!
Also on the 20th June we celebrated Mark's parents 50th wedding anniversary at a lovely hotel in Oakhampton. My sister in law took this photo the next morning and I love its "quirkyness".
So I thought I would share it with you for those of you that have never met us, its a chance to see the makers behind all the artwork, mosaics and jewellery!
