Howdy All,
The one first (and only one scheduled so far for the night hours) chance for public testimony on the new PM 2.5 regulations will be Tuesday, January 7th, from 5 to 7 pm at the Westmark. You can see my talking points here, and this is a link to the draft regs. The environmentalists as usual are hitting this hard, so please participate, and let the state know that some here care about people being able to afford to live here. The following night, Wednesday, January 8th, from 5 to 7 pm, is the last open house on the PM 2.5 regs, also at the Westmark.
In October, I was at the Co-Op Market and saw that they were carrying an extremely liberal magazine promoting killing babies. I brought this to the manager's attention, and she took the magazine up. When I came back some days later, it was back on the rack. I brought this up at the Co-op's Annual Meeting and asked them to stay out of politics. There were concerns when they started up that with many of the founder's liberal bents that they might foray out into politics on that side of the fence. I asked the manager at that meeting specifically that if they were going to carry them in the future to let me know so I could remove my membership. There's a huge difference between having to shop at a store that carries genocide-promoting stuff and being an owner of it.
I was in there a few weeks ago, and saw that they were displaying the same magazine again, this time the front cover of it was promoting ways to destroy the economy and kill jobs, while the back cover had some much worse stuff on it. I then immediately withdrew my membership. Please spread the word that they have chosen political sides, and let other owners know how their resources are being used.
A gentleman in Anchorage, Bret Bohn, is being held in Providence hospital against his will, with his parents not being allowed to visit him. They have been holding a vigil outside the hospital for over 60 days. You can read the article here. Please let the governor know that something needs to be done. His Facebook page is here, and his email is governor@alaska.gov.
