49th Annual Spring Fair 6/6

10AM-5PM - UPPER PLAYGROUND Featuring the fabulous talent show, tasty eats from local restaurants, game booths, inflatables, and much more!

VOLUNTEER FOR FUN Help make the Fair amazing! Volunteer at your grade level sponsored booth, the Chili Booth, MakerSpace Booth, Book Booth, Student Store, and more. Sign up today! For more info visit or contact Jo Karambelas.

BOOTH TICKETS Order your Fair tickets online at or turn in the flyer to the PTA room. Tickets can be used at ALL fair booths. 6/3 is the deadline for classroom delivery. 6/5 at 2pm is the deadline for pre-order will call pick-up. Questions? Contact Courtney Halle.

TEACHER/STAFF RAFFLE Enter to win a memorable experience with GV teachers and staff. Raffle offerings were sent home in the Tuesday Envelope and can be found at Raffle tickets will be available at the fair and all proceeds go to MBEF.

BAKE SHOP NEEDS VOLUNTEERS AND BAKED GOODS Bake a batch of your favorite cookies, cupcakes, or bars. Drop off donations after school 6/5 in the cafeteria or on 6/6 from 7-10am. Email what you are bringing to Bea Zimbalist.

CHILI COOK OFF Dust off that crock pot, test that secret family recipe, and enter the Chili Cook Off! Contestants please contact Amanda Zaumeyer or Ali Snyder.

BOOK SALE BOOTH Clean out your closets and go under the beds to donate used books, DVDs and CDs to the Grand View Fair Used Book Booth. Drop off your donations in the Library hallway. Paint-a-Gator 6/6

FAMILY MURAL PAINTING FUN AT THE SPRING FAIR 10AM-5PM Click here to sign up your family for a 30 minute time slot to paint the new Grand View Gator Mural in the amphitheater behind the Cafeteria. No artistic talent required. Thank you to BE Education - Beautify Earth for making this project possible.

New Gator Gear Surf Shirts

GATOR STORE OPEN FRIDAY & SATURDAY The Gator Store will be open 6/5 from 2-3pm and during the Spring Fair 6/6 from 10am-5pm. The latest design is a round-collar classic surf tee for men and a v-neck fitted surf tee for women. Both feature a simple GV letter logo on the front and retro surfboard art on the back.


Volunteer Thank You 6/10

FROM RHONDA STEINBERG It is time for our teachers to thank each parent volunteer for the amazing number of hours given to make Grand View the "Happiest Place on Earth." If you have volunteered in the classroom, in the library, in the science lab, on a field trip, for a PTA event, or for a grade level extravaganza then you have earned a free ticket for our Annual Parent Volunteer Thank You get together. A light breakfast will be served and child care will be provided on the upper playground.

Lost a Library Book?

LIBRARY MATERIALS DUE 6/8 FOR INVENTORY While there is no fine for overdue books, if a book is lost or damaged it must be paid for. If you feel our records are in error please email Heidi Snively. Thank you for your timely attention.

GREAT GATORS ARE GREAT READERS 3,810 books were circulated in May! Top patrons for the month: Julia Wergeles, Roxanne Fusco, Andrew Cherry, Salem Spencer-Meade, Maximo Wright, and Charles Harding. Each will receive a little surprise.

School Supplies for 2015-16

ORDER ONLINE BY 6/30 Visit 1st Day School Supplies, Locate Grand View and select your child's grade for NEXT YEAR. Our teachers have carefully chosen their supply lists. Please support their choices and save yourself gas, time, and frustration by purchasing your complete kit online. Kits will be mailed to your home in a handy reusable bag for your child to bring on their first day of school. 6/30 is the firm final date to place an order. Questions? Email Kristen Lukas.

Classroom Emergency Kits for 2015-16

DEADLINE TO ORDER 9/15  Every student must have an emergency kit at school. EDP students need two kits: one for the classroom and one for the EDP room. And for peace of mind, some families order extra kits to keep at home and in the car. For your convenience, GVPTA offers online ordering with Kits have a 5-year shelf life, so order only if you don't have yours from last year to send with your child in the fall. Run Club

THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR! 6/3 is the last day to redeem the 5-mile Popsicle reward. Thank you to our volunteers: Shelly Huber, Jamie and Misha Bedner, April Brown, Laura Silva, Stephanie Graham, Vicki Tyler, and the many parents who helped to scan the runners. Many thanks to our sponsors: The Murad Family Foundation, Beach Cities Health District, Fresh Brothers, and Skechers.

MILEAGE STATS Gators ran across America and back, totaling 6,756 miles. 54% of our students participated (plus many parents and teachers). More than 100 kids ran marathons and over 270 kids ran 1/2 marathons.

PARTICIPATION STATS Special shout-out to Mrs. Robertson's 3rd graders with 87% participation! 5th grade-45%. 4th grade-61%. 3rd grade-55%. 2nd grade-57%. 1st grade-48%.
