MUSIC: AN INSTRUMENT FOR LEARNING MATH Studies by the U.S. Department of Education show that music in school helps children learn math. It also helps students grasp scientific concepts faster and improves cognitive development. Over time, children with access to music education demonstrate higher math and science proficiency by a significant margin. Needless to say, we would not have a Grammy-winning program at Mira Costa without the strong foundation in music we develop in the elementary grades. Investing in our Annual Appeal ensures that your child will have music in every grade, K-12. Please Give Now.

Run Club
BACK WITH A VENGEANCE IN 2016 Despite cooler temperatures, we've had an excellent showing of kids and parents, with several guest appearances by P.E. teacher Ms. Wood. Our amazing kids have run over 3,600 miles this school year -- the equivalent of running to the Staples Center 200 times! Congratulations to the following classrooms with the highest participation in their grade level last week: 1st-Olson, 2nd-Glassman, 3rd-Goodlad, 4th-Shaw-Bueno, 5th-DiBiase. Everyone welcome M-W-F 7:45-8:05am.
