A Message from Our Principal
GRATITUDE If you do nothing else but cultivate a grateful response, then you will have spent this day well. This month we have several exciting activities and opportunities for students to experience and share the character value of
GRATITUDE. Our mantra for the next few weeks and beyond will be
Gators have an ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE.
GRATITUDE = HAPPINESS This week we are focusing on the
science of happiness. Did you know that gratitude has powerful physiological effects on the brain and body? The feelings that come with gratitude trigger the calming branch of the autonomic nervous system, the parasympathetic system. Using MindUP curriculum, students will investigate and learn about the science of happiness. Here are some tools and tips for parents to help children cement the character value of GRATITUDE.

CHRISSIE CLAY Thanks to Chrissie's leadership, Grand View is piloting a food donation program for MBUSD. Our cafeteria food overages are picked up daily by
Food Finders and donated to those in need. And in her spare time, this super parent is working to get our student garden ready for planting. Thank you for making Grand View... and the world... a better place, Chrissie!
MBEF
SMALL CLASSES, BIG DIFFERENCE Thanks to parent donations, Manhattan Beach elementary classes in Kindergarten through third grade remain small and personal. Our K-3 classes average just 23 students. And you can help preserve these small classes by giving to the MBEF Annual Appeal today. Thank you.
