STEM in Our Schools
INSTRUCTIONAL SHIFT AHEAD
Over the next three years our students will experience a significant shift in the way our District teaches science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Did you know that donations to MBEF help fund STEM programming for our children? This fall we launched Project Lead the Way (PLTW), the nation's leading provider of K-12 STEM programming. The PLTW curriculum is hands-on, project-based, data-backed, and exactly what parents were looking for when they were surveyed last fall. We are excited about how this initiative will transform the way our children engage with STEM and innovation. Learn more about STEM programming funded by MBEF for 2015-16
. And if you haven't already, please consider a meaningful donation or pledge to MBEF
so we can continue to provide all GV students with programs that enrich and enhance their educational experience.

Picture Make-ups, Re-takes, & 5th Grade Panoramic 10/20
MAKE-UPS AND DO-OVERS If your child missed picture day, there is a second chance on 10/20. There is no paperwork and no pre-payment is needed. If you would like a new picture taken on 10/20, please send the proof from the first one with your child. The new picture overwrites the first one so there is no going back if you decide you like the first one better. Questions? Contact Sandy Quigley.
5TH GRADE PANORAMIC AT 9:15AM
MBUSD Math Workshop 10/21
FROM DR. MIKE MATTHEWS, MBUSD SUPERINTENDENT
One of the biggest changes we are making this year is in the area of mathematics. I encourage parents and teachers to attend and participate in a Board math workshop on 10/21 from 5-6pm at MBMS in the multi-purpose room. Workshops are a different type of board meeting, in that they are less formal and allow for more direct and interactive communication between the public and the Board. Click for a description of the workshop.
